My weight loss story

Basically, I was at 195 forever and a day (LOL). I had always sworn that I would NEVER be over 200#. I stepped on the scale one day & just about fainted when I read 200. That was January of 2006. I cried for days, and KNEW this couldn't happen to me. I watched my Mum struggle for a long time with her weight. I also watched her lose a couple hundred pounds. She looks AWESOME!!!!

My pre-baby weight was 130, and after having my first one, I dropped the weight fairly easily. I never got below 150, though, but after having a child, then more down the road, I was happy at 150.

I had been a member of spark people long before the day of
200, and I got on there & began to log EVERYTHING- food, exercise, water intake, etc!!! I lost some weight here & there, nothing drastic. In August of this past year we moved from ATL to Wyoming. I weighed 177. Wow, 23 pounds in almost 3 years & my weight was still fluctuating horribly. I was not thrilled.

In Jan of this year, we started a Traditional Foods diet. In the first 3-4 months I lost another 12 pounds. I had read the book- "Eat Fat, Lose Fat" and it opened my eyes. We switched from margarine to real butter, from low & non fat milks to real milk, and started eating fattier meats.

A couple of months ago it was gardening season. I was digging & tilling & off to the hardware store a bunch for wood & chicken wire etc. Just days after starting the garden work, I found out I was allowed to have chickens. I love repurposing things to keep them out of landfills, and I also love being CHEAP!!! I started ripping aparts pallets for the walls of my coop. The
re was so much to be done. Tear apart pallets, cut some planks to size, convert the dog run into a chicken run, I mean I was busting my butt! As soon as that was done (it took about 3 weeks), I went back to garden work.

I haven't stopped moving since then, LOLOL. In the last 2 months, I was able to eek off the last 15 pounds of my day of 200 demise. Between traditional foods & the wonderful Wyoming air, I am FREE!!!!

I had planned my goal weight to be 150. Anything less than that is icing. Right now I'm ecstatic with the 50 pound loss. I gave up a few times, but I now know IT CAN BE DONE!!!!!

I feel great, I look great (toot toot, LOL). Hubba thinks I look great & I can't wait to go back to GA and hear the comments!!!!! My pants are falling off of me, even my goal pants.

I AM THERE!!!! I AM WHERE I FELT I SHOULD BE!!!! And I'm super stoked about it!!!

Pictures are from May 2006 & then some from today. I cried. I cried out of happiness, awe, anger. I cannot believe I did that to myself.

What a hottie you are. Who would have thought one could look so great eating butter and whole milk and cheese and meat. Good job girl!

Glad you were able to take it off, it's amazing what good food can do. (it's also amazing how fast extra hormones can ruin it! lol)

WOW Michaela!!

You did all that just by switching to traditional foods??!?!

I've lost 10lbs since June 21st when we decided to go organic.

I hope I can look as good as you as I have a lot more lbs to lose.
