OK, here's the dog pen that will be turned into a chicken run. It measures 10'X16'+. I'm building the coop inside the barn you see that the pen/run attaches to. You can kinda see the doggie door behind the tree trunk, which will be revamped into the chicken door.
Excuse the storage mess. This is where I'm building the coop. I had to revamp the plan 3 times. A friend of mine said to consider my plans a "living document." LOL
The doggie door is behind that mess somewhere.....
Oh wait, there it is:
First Hubba & I cleared the mess away. While he was outta town, I started framing the place. Here's the finished part of that:
It's surprisingly sturdy. Keep in mind, I have never undertaken a project such as this!!! I think it's going great so far (the first 3 plans aside!)
Oh, and it's getting hard to take pics in such a cramped space!
And finally (so far) I have wall planks going up. I'm tearing apart pallets to make the walls. I get them for some time & elbow grease & I'm doing my part at reusing!!!
Oh another revamped piece- the cabinet you see in these pics will be the nesting box after a few tweaks!!!
There you have it, my coop so far!!

Google friend connect- a pain in my tush!
I have some blogs I enjoy reading. A lot.... But for some reason, I cannot comment on blogs that have the friend connect thingie to leave comments. *sigh*
Bedtick Farm is one such blog I adore.
My soon-to-be almost neighbor at Thinking Outloud (I can't wait til you get here, Millie!!!).
I know there's a couple others, but these 2 came to mind right off the bat.
So can anyone help me? Why can I not comment on friend connect blogs? *sniff* I don't want these folks thinking I'm ignoring them or being snooty. I have Vista (ew, yuck, I know. I can't believe I just admitted that!). The computer was just bought in October-ish & it's a smashing Acer with a slim tower (sorry had to brag for a mo, LOL. I LOVE the tiny tower!). I don't know what else to give you to help me, but please HEP ME!!! *grin*

Morning ladies (& any gents that may be reading)! We have been s busy! I have lots of pics & posts to get on here, so be patient with me. Got Markie this morning. I missed the little squirt. Haven't had her since, um.... Saturday. Had to think about that, LOL. I overslept today. Have lots to do & have done lots so far. I wanted to work outside, so I made my do-list, but since it was supposed to snow, I made a back up (bad weather) list as well, LOL. Of course it snowed & I'd rather have been outside digging. On my agenda today:
- Add to Amish Friendship Starter
- Make Amish Fr'ship bread
- Make sweet tea
- portion huge honkin pork roast I got at Sam's yesterday
- repot aloe I got from home depot y-day
- Clean mudroom, now that I've started outdoor seeds, it's time to reorg it- Have some plants to go out to the coldframe as well Got most of this done
- wintersow
- Laundry, HS & the like (working on)
- Clean master loo
- clean out fridge
- put lime cubes in bag
- start dinner in the CP
- portion & freeze spags sauce
Hope you all have a very blessed day today!

QUIT SPENDING OUR MONEY!!!
Last night I was planting seeds. Keenan was watching intently & I was letting him help with the bigger seeds. All of a sudden he says REAL forcefully:
"WE need to QUIT spending our MONEY!!!!!"
So I just look at him & he smiles sweetly & says soft & sweet:
"We can just grow stuff."
I thought it was brill for a 5 year old! Most adults these days can't even comprehend that.

My sad little Bentos
I'm optimistic that I'll get better at this though. The kids had a blast though, ad we used real Japanese chopsticks, courtesy of my friend Tracey. They were a lot of fun to make, and even though I didn't have the pricey stuff, I think it made for a GREAT start! Not to mention, my rice turned out PERFECT!!!

A Beautiful Morning
Last week, I awoke to a beautifully BLUE morning. I am always amazed at the beauty God has given us to behold. I try not to take for granted the sights that surround me. Friday was one such morning as I looked outside & ran for the camera. The pics, other than being cropped, are untouched. With the exception of the last 2, I used no flash. It was still snowing- lightly & gently floating to the ground, but somehow, it was comfortably cool but not cold. The birds were chirping in the trees. I sat out there & enjoyed the wonderfull blue morning for a bit, before I ventured back in.

Time for another break
Hello all. I'm going to be taking another net break this week. I've got some refocusing to do. I feel so good after taking net breaks, and hope this will be another week of rejuvenation! I've set up some posts that are scheduled to be posted each day, though. I hope you enjoy them and have a wonderful week.

Tea Time "Ma'zure"
Keenan says: Tea time, ma'zure. I made hot tea for them a few days ago (I actually make hot tea for them often). I guess tea & checkers go hand in hand..... Chess too. The kids have taken a liking to chess & checkers <3
So, of course, the rest have to join in as well.
So grab your cuppa, stick your pinky out & get playing!!!
