Kombucha tea

I've been reading on the internet, that if I buy a bottle of raw kombucha tea, I can grow my own "scoby" (Symbiotic Colony Of Bacteria and Yeast). So, I bought a bottle of kombucha tea:

It is currently sitting in a quart mason jar, capped with the ring & 2 coffee filters (to let air in, but not dust & other contaminating particles), in a dark cupboard for the next couple of weeks or so.

Here's to hoping.

Okay, I'll bite.
What does it DO for you?
And how does it taste?
(good to see you back, girl!)

It's a probiotic drink, so it's like yoghurt on crack as far as the good healthy stuff. I've read it helps with things from weight loss & PMS'ing & healing the gut to loads of other stuff.

As for taste, I've read it can taste like fizzy apple cider, to fizzy apple cider vinegar. I don't know the answers to any of your questions yet though, because I just started & cannot speak from experience, LOLOLOL.

Google kombucha tea. You'll find loads of info on it. For less than $4, if it does none of the above, I've lost very little.

Michaela,
Just found your blog and I'd like to follow it but can't find the link.

BTW I'm in South Central MT. I just started a blog, so distant relatives can keep up to date on what's happening in our lives.

Blessings,
Kelle
