Update on garden & LOTS of pics!

I put 51 mater plants in the ground this past week. The trees are blooming, the grapes & blueberries are getting new growth. I put 9 new strawberry plants in my strawberry bag. When I emptied my bag, I filtered thru & pulled out the old root balls. I've got them in wet soil, to see if they'll come back. They ARE strawberries after all, so we'll see! LOL. Hubba helped me build my bean arbor, and that has "bean" placed. HA, I crack me up!!! My peas are all at least a few inches tall, and the leaves are starting to show their speckled purtiness. I bought 4 more broc starts. They were bigger than mine & at 59¢, I couldn't resist! I've got 2 dill plants in the ground & have started a whole dishpan of more. Once I get the new ones transplanted, I'll start another dishpan, and so on & so forth. I have dutch onions planted, and some salad greens.

I'm sure there's more. OH, Seb & I planted some flowers out front together as well :)

Sushi

I cannot believe I forgot to post about this!!! Whenever Hubba goes out of town, the boys & I enjoy things for dinner that Hubba won't stomach- fish, liver, etc. Yes, my kids actually like this sort of stuff!!! Last month, Hubba went to OH for almost a week. On the menu- beef liver & mashed potatoes; sushi; tilapia, among other things. We made sushi for the FIRST time! Here are some pics. I'm actually quite chuffed at how well they turned out for a first timer. I made California rolls. One for the ease to break myself in & 2- the boys, I wasn't sure how they'd deal with it. It was a HUGE HIT!! Well, except Keenan, the persnickety one. I made him "special" sushi. You'll see.....

"Special" sushi for 5 year old boys.....

Trim crust of a slice of bread. Roll as flat as you can get it. Lay 1 slice each cheese & meat on bread. Place 1 carrot stick in the middle of the pile of "special" stuff. Roll tightly & pat some water on the edge before rolling all the way closed. The water makes "bread glue" & helps the sushi roll seal. Just like real sushi with seaweed.

Day trip to Casper, misc. pics

Look what the Easter Bunny left us!!

Fat robin

We left at 10 til 5 the morning of April 15th for Casper. Hubba had a test he had to take for work, so that he could get certified for underground tank storage. That was an early morning & a LONG day! The sunrise was BEAUTIFUL. The very orange pics were taken to the left & the lighter ones were to the right. It was a BEAUTIFUL drive!

Here, we've arrived & are waiting in the van for Hubba's test time. While Hubba was testing, we went off shopping.

The trip back, while cloudy & darker in some spots, was no less beautiful. You could actually see the clouds resting atop the mountains. The kids were exhausted by then. The Platte river below:
